New Delhi. RC or Registration Certificate of a vehicle is very important for the owner. In simple words, Registration Certificate is a document which proves who is the owner of the vehicle and in whose name the vehicle is registered with the Regional Traffic Office (RTO). The complete details of the vehicle are written on the registration certificate. It contains engine number, chassis number, date of registration, registration number and owner’s information.

Usually the registration certificate is of a plastic card, but earlier it was printed on paper. Because of this the information printed on the registration certificate was erased. First of all, the person has to go to the official website of the transport service. Here under the “Online Services” tab, click on “Vehicle Services”. Then the website will ask for the name of that state. Suppose if you are from Delhi then you have to select Delhi. After this the website gets redirected to the vehicle transport website of Delhi.

After selecting Delhi a pop-up will automatically open through which one has to click on “Issue Duplicate RC” which will be under “Vehicle Services”. One has to register first. If he already has an account then he has to log in. Once logged in, under “Online Services”, there will be an option for “Vehicle Services”.

In the next step, the vehicle details will have to be filled. The person has to fill the registration number and chassis number. Then the verification will have to be completed by filling the Aadhaar number and OTP. After this you have to e-sign and upload the documents. Then you have to complete the e-KYC and make the payment. Once the RTO approves the application, they will send the duplicate RC through speed post.
