iPhone 15: Why does Apple want to give chassis from titanium in the smartphone? Know its benefits
According to Apple’s traditional timeline, the iPhone 15 could be launched in September 2023.
The leaker claims that back-glass will be used in the iPhone 15 as well.
The predictions made by this leaker on earlier smartphones were absolutely accurate.
New Delhi. Leaks have started surfacing about what the new version of the Apple smartphone would be like, the iPhone 15, and this topic remains a topic of discussion among tech lovers on social media. Apple’s upcoming iPhones in 2023 are rumored to have a titanium-made chassis and curved rear edges, and not the current squared-off design.
According to a Twitter user @ShrimpApplePro, the back-edges of the iPhone 15 will be rounded and create a new border. Exactly the same bottom edge as Apple’s current 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models. Apple’s latest model available in the market (iPhone 14), has a flat-sided design and its edges are squared-off. If Apple follows its traditional September launch timeline, the iPhone 15 model is likely to launch in September 2023 (iphone 15 release date).

How reliable is the informer?
Additionally, the leaker claims that titanium material is going to be used in the iPhone 15 and back-glass will be used in this phone as well. The predictions made by this leaker on earlier smartphones were absolutely accurate. In such a situation, most of the users are trusting this tip. Although @ShrimpApplePro himself has warned that it might be too early to take this information at face value.
Rumor of titanium metal not the first time!
This is not the first time that the use of titanium has been heard in Apple. Earlier this year, the rumors of iPhone 14 also gave some similar hints. It was being said that the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max would have a titanium alloy chassis, but this did not happen. All iPhone 14 models have aluminum and stainless steel chassis.

Why titanium instead of steel?
However, Apple has recently investigated the possibility of titanium casings for its products, including patents related to the use of processed titanium with special properties for future MacBooks, iPads and iPhones.
Compared to stainless steel, titanium has a relatively high strength, which makes it more resistant to scratches. Its hardness makes it durable enough to prevent breakage. Work is going on in Apple, but there are reports of large-scale research going on for the usefulness of titanium in smartphone chassis.

So for the first time titanium will be used in the phone!
If these reports are accurate, this would be the first time Apple has used titanium in iPhones and iPads. The company has used titanium as a casing material in recent Apple Watch models such as the Apple Watch Ultra, and the physical Apple Card is also made of titanium. But all the new iPhones and iPads are made of stainless steel and aluminum only.
