This will be because now the telecom companies have started preparing to increase the mobile tariff again. In November last year, companies had increased the tariff. The increase in the prices of tariff plans will not be limited to pre-paid only, the prices of post paid plans can also be increased. In November, companies had hiked up to 25 per cent. According to a report, telecom companies can increase the tariff to raise funds to start 5G services. It is believed that the mobile tariff may increase by 15 to 20 percent. It is believed that telecom companies will have to invest 1.5 to 2 lakh crore rupees to run 5G services. For this, companies can increase the existing tariff plan.

Rating agencies Fitch Ratings and JM Finance also believe that the price of mobile plan tariff may increase soon. According to the report of JM Finance, telecom companies can increase the tariff plan in two or three installments to raise the 5G rollout fund. On the other hand, Fitch’s report states that the company can increase the tariff by 15 to 20 percent. It is worth noting that the CEO of Vodafone Idea had also advocated for raising rates some time back.

Mobile tariff prices were last increased in November 2021. Then the companies had increased the prices from 20 percent to 25 percent. Airtel had increased the prices by 25 percent.
