Where are Heavy Tweeters going?

News activities are shifting on Tiktok
Earlier Twitter used to be a platform to follow breaking news. However, it may come as a surprise to know that the activities around the news are now shifting to Tiktok as well. The Pew Research Center published a study this week, showing that Americans get most of the news from Tiktok.
tripled the number
The report states that the share of Americans receiving news from TikTok has tripled in just two years. This number was 3% in 2020, which increased to 10% in 2022. However, there is not enough evidence to conclude that Twitter users are turning to TikTok for news.
Users are getting news on Tiktok
According to the study, 26% of Americans say that they regularly get news on TikTok. This number is higher than in previous years. One-third of Americans who use TikTok say they regularly get news on the site. Conversely, news consumption on other social media sites has declined or remains the same. For the time being it will be interesting to see if Twitter does anything in response to the alleged drop in activity of heavy tweeters.
